现在完成时 (Present Perfect) · 主语 + has + 过去分词 + 宾语 and has + 过去分词 + 宾语

• has bought / has begun 是现在完成时，强调结果现在仍存在
• bought 是 buy 的过去分词，begun 是 begin 的过去分词
• 两个并列谓语共用一个主语

介绍 Fawcett 船长目前的新情况：已经买了飞机、已经开始服务，用现在完成时表示这些结果现在还在。

2The 'taxi' is a small Swiss aeroplane called a 'Pilatus Porter'.

这辆“出租车”是一架小型瑞士飞机，名叫“皮拉图斯·波特”。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + is + 表语 (名词短语 + 过去分词短语作定语)

• called a 'Pilatus Porter' 是过去分词短语作后置定语
• taxi 加引号表示它并不是真正的出租车

说明这架"出租车"是什么，一般现在时陈述事实。called ... 修饰前面的 aeroplane。

3This wonderful plane can carry seven passengers.

这架奇妙的飞机可以载七名乘客。

一般现在时 (Simple Present, 情态动词 can) · 主语 + can + 动词原形 + 宾语

• can 表示能力，后接动词原形 carry
• seven passengers 数词 + 复数名词

陈述飞机的载客能力，用情态动词 can 表示"能够"。

4The most surprising thing about it, however, is that it can land anywhere: on snow, water, or even on a ploughed field.

然而，它最令人惊奇的地方是它能在任何地方降落：在雪地上、水面上，甚至在耕过的田地里。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · The most + 形容词 + 名词 + is + that 从句

• that it can land anywhere 是表语从句
• however 作插入语，前后用逗号隔开
• 冒号后列举地点，or even 表示递进

主句用最高级 the most surprising thing 作主语，that 引导表语从句说明令人惊讶的是什么。

一般过去时 (Simple Past) · 主语 + was + 表语 + who 引导的定语从句

• was / flew 都是一般过去时，讲过去具体一次的事
• who flew from ... to ... 是定语从句修饰 a doctor
• flew 是 fly 的过去式

讲述第一位乘客这件具体的过去事，因此从现在完成时转为一般过去时。

• since then 是现在完成时的典型时间状语
• flown 是 fly 的过去分词 (fly–flew–flown)

从那时到现在的经历，用现在完成时；注意 flew 与 flown 的区别。

7Once he landed on the roof of a block of flats and on another occasion, he landed in a deserted car park.

有一次，他降落在一幢公寓楼的屋顶上；还有一次，他降落在一个废弃的停车场里。

一般过去时 (Simple Past) · Once + 主语 + 动词过去式 + 地点状语 and on another occasion + 主语 + 动词过去式 + 地点状语

• once / on another occasion 指过去的具体某次，用一般过去时
• landed on the roof / landed in a car park 注意介词搭配

举两次具体经历作例子，都是过去发生的事，用 landed。

8Captain Fawcett has just refused a strange request from a businessman.

福西特机长刚刚拒绝了一位商人的奇怪请求。

现在完成时 (Present Perfect) · 主语 + has just + 过去分词 + 宾语 + from + 人

• just 放在 has 和过去分词之间
• refused a request from sb. 拒绝某人的请求

"刚刚"拒绝，强调这件事刚发生、与现在紧密相关，用 has just refused。

9The man wanted to fly to Rockall, a lonely island in the Atlantic Ocean, but Captain Fawcett did not take him because the trip was too dangerous.

这个人想飞到大西洋中的一个孤岛罗卡尔，但福西特机长没有带他去，因为这次旅行太危险了。
