语法点：非真实条件句：与现在事实相反 (Second Conditional)

第二条件句（虚拟条件句）用来谈论与现在事实相反、或将来不太可能发生的假设。if 从句用一般过去时（be 动词多用 were），主句用 would + 动词原形。本课探长的问题 Would a later train get you to work on time? 及回答 I suppose it would 就是这种假设：那人并没有坐晚一班车，只是假设。第 13 句 the 8.25 which would still get you to work on time 也是同样的虚拟语气。注意与第一条件句的区别：if 从句用现在时、主句用 will，表示真实可能发生的事。

结构

❌ If he caught a later train, he will be late. → ✅ If he caught a later train, he would be late. — if 从句用了过去时，主句要用 would，不能用 will。
❌ If I would be you, I would tell the truth. → ✅ If I were you, I would tell the truth. — if 从句中不用 would；be 动词用 were。
