1Fishing is my favourite sport.

钓鱼是我最喜欢的运动。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 动名词（主语）+ is + 名词短语

• Fishing 是动名词作主语
• 动名词作主语视为单数，谓语用 is

动名词作主语是本课重点，谓语动词用第三人称单数。

2I often fish for hours without catching anything.

我常常一钓就是好几个小时，却什么也钓不到。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + 频度副词 + 动词 + for + 时间段 + without + 动名词

• without 是介词，后接动名词 catching
• for hours 表示持续时间
• anything 用于否定意义的句子

介词 without 后必须用动名词；for hours 说明钓鱼持续多久。

3But this does not worry me.

但这并不使我烦恼。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + does not + 动词原形 + 宾语

• this 指上一句“钓不到鱼”这件事
• 一般现在时否定用 does not + 动词原形

this 作主语是第三人称单数，否定时用 does not，worry 用原形。

4Some fishermen are unlucky.

有些钓鱼的人运气不好。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + are + 形容词

• Some fishermen 是复数主语，用 are
• unlucky 是 lucky 的反义词，加前缀 un-

简单的主系表结构，形容词 unlucky 作表语。

5Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish.

他们钓不到鱼，却钓上来旧靴子和垃圾。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · Instead of + 动名词 + 宾语, 主语 + 动词 + 宾语

• instead of 后接动名词 catching
• fish 作名词时单复数同形
• old boots and rubbish 是并列宾语

instead of 是介词短语，后面的动词必须用 -ing 形式。

6I am even less lucky.

我的运气还要差。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + am + even + 比较级

• less lucky 是 lucky 的“更不”比较级
• even 加强比较级：“甚至更不走运”

even + 比较级表示程度更进一步，less lucky 意为“更不走运”。

7I never catch anything -- not even old boots.

我什么也钓不到——连旧靴子也没有。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + never + 动词 + anything -- not even + 名词

• never 表示否定，动词仍用肯定形式 catch
• not even 意为“甚至连……也不”

never 本身有否定意义，句中不再用 don't；not even 补充强调。

8After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag.

在河上度过整整几个上午之后，我总是带着空袋子回家。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · After + having + 过去分词 + 宾语 + 地点, 主语 + always + 动词 + 状语

• having spent 是完成式动名词，作介词 after 的宾语
• 完成式动名词强调动作在主句之前完成
• with an empty bag 意为“提着空袋子”

after 后用 having + 过去分词，表示“花了整个上午之后”，动作先于回家。

9'You must give up fishing!' my friends say. 'It's a waste of time.'

“你必须放弃钓鱼！”我的朋友们说，“这纯粹是浪费时间。”

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + must + give up + 动名词! + 主语 + say. It's + 名词短语

• give up 后接动名词 fishing
• must 表示强烈的建议
• a waste of time 意为“浪费时间”

give up 是动词短语，后面接动名词而不是不定式。

10But they don't realize one important thing.

但他们没有意识到一件重要的事。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · But + 主语 + don't + 动词原形 + 宾语

• they 是复数，否定用 don't
• realize 意为“意识到”

一般现在时否定句，复数主语用 don't + 动词原形。

11I'm not really interested in fishing.

我并不是真的对钓鱼感兴趣。

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + am not + really + interested in + 动名词

• be interested in 后接动名词 fishing
• really 放在 not 之后，意为“并不真正”

be interested in + doing 是固定搭配，in 是介词，所以后接动名词。

12I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!

我感兴趣的只是坐在船上，什么事也不干！

一般现在时 (Simple Present) · 主语 + am + only + interested in + 动名词 + and + 动名词

• sitting 和 doing 是并列的动名词，都作 in 的宾语
• doing nothing at all 意为“什么也不干”
• only 表示“只是”

介词 in 后两个动名词并列，用 and 连接，形式要一致。
